BDS Victory: TUC votes for campaign of boycott and disinvestment to free Palestine

Delegates at TUC vote to boycottBritain's unions have thrown their weight behind a campaign of disinvestment and boycott from companies which are profiting from Israel's illegal occupation of Palestinian territories.

Trade unions voted unanimously  at the TUC's annual conference for a motion put forward by the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association (TSSA), seconded by the GMB, and supported by UNISON, PCS (the Public and Commercial Services Union) and the FBU (Fire Brigades' Union).

The motion called for the General Council to work closely with the Palestine Solidarity Campaign to actively encourage affiliates, employers and pension funds to disinvest from, and boycott the goods of, companies who profit from illegal settlements, the Occupation and construction of the Apartheid Wall.

TOGETHER WE'LL BREAK THE SIEGE ON GAZA!

PSC to GazaPSC would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed so generously towards sending a PSC aid vehicle to Gaza on the next Viva Palestina convoy.

Thanks to you, we're just £2,000 from our target of £10,000 to take the vehicle and aid to Gaza.

The convoy is due to leave London on Saturday (18th) and will drive more than 4,000 miles to Gaza taking your aid with it. We will be joined en-route by convoys from Europe, Turkey and Jordan, and be met in Syria by convoys from Kuwait and Morocco. Hundreds of vehicles and people from around the world will then attempt to break Israel's siege on Gaza together.

PSC vehicles were on the last Viva Palestina convoy that broke the siege in January 2010, and we were on the Mavi Marmara, and thanks to you, PSC is once again part of the international effort to end Israel's medieval and inhuman siege.

There's still time to donate towards the PSC vehicle and aid.

You can send a cheque (made payable to PSC) to PSC, BOX BM PSA, London, WC1N 3XX. (Please write 'For Gaza aid convoy' on the back of the cheque) To donate by phone, call the office on 020 7700 6192.

Convoy send off: Leaves for Gaza this Saturday

Wave goodbye to the convoy at 8.30am on the north side of the Embankment east of the Palace of Westminster and Portcullis House. (Nearest tube Westminster). The convoy will leave at 9.30am.
