I am attaching the Arjun Sengupta Report on Conditions of Work and Promotion of Livelihoods in the Unorganized Sector. It uses the NSS 61st Round 2004-2005 and Employment-Unemployment Survey. From this I have been able to deduce the following: a. 84.5% of Indian Muslim Households do not spend not more than Rs. 609 per month or about Rs.20 per month. b. 13.3% of Indian Muslim Households spend about Rs.1098 per month or Rs. 37 per day. c. 2.2% of Indian Muslim Households are regarded as high category and spends Rs. 2776 per month or Rs. 93 per day.  I think these figures appear low if we confuse the wages/salaries with the per capita household expenditure. However, when we differentiate the two they  get more meaningful.
