![DU admission process: Problems to all. Dear Ashok Ji, In view of 'no clear guidelines from DU', this academic year, almost all students are going to face lot of problems. Students, who wish to migrate to other streams, will be most unfortunate. Almost all colleges have set their own criteria. For some of its courses, St. Stephens is giving plus weightage for Science stream students, who wish to migrate to Commerce or Humanities. LSR is having 1-2 % negative weightage in some of its courses. SRCC & Hansraj giving 1-2% advantage to students from Science & Humanities, the Hindu College has raised the percentage by 2-3%. [A report of HT: Page 4 of 11.06.2011] As regards, the subjects for Best of Four Subjects (BFS) or Best of Three subjects, the basis for getting the admission for a particular stream, there is no set guidelines from DU and all most all colleges have their own criteria. Details of such weightage at other Colleges are not available either on DU's website or at the respective websites. I have visited a number of Colleges of North & South campus and no official information is available. On enquiring, only answer is 'wait for the First cut-off'. Why there are no clear cut guidelines from DU? Why such liberty has been given by DU to the Colleges? First cut-off is due on 15th and I am sure that there will be no clear cut guidelines from DU on this subject. Hence, the aspiring student has to visit the respective College, he/she wish to take the admission in. Clearly, he/she has to remain on road in search of 'criteria set by the respective college' to get her/him admitted in DU. After the cut-off, 3 days will be available to get the admission and the admission will be on 'First cum basis'. How, the transparency will be maintained?
